Grahamstown, South Africa: that is where we met. Me (a polite Canadian) and Me (a grumpy Frenchman). We have many similarities — including the size of our eyes — but also are both non-practitioners of our respective professions (or what we qualified for), me as a lawyer and me as a marketer. In fact, what we like in our professions (and probably why we qualified for them) is the people side of them: human rights on the one hand; consumer behaviour on the other. We left our jobs in early February 2012 and decided to travel across the African continent for one year. One objective: to get a lot of that human feeling.
